Sadaqah Qurbani

Use this space to inspire action – explain the heart of the project and what supporters can help achieve 120ch max

What is Sadaqah Jariyah?

Sadaqah Jariyah means “continuous charity”; it’s a form of giving that continues to benefit people long- term, and in turn, rewards the giver long after the initial act. This is charity with a lasting impact. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that when a person dies, their deeds end except for three things, one of which is Sadaqah Jariyah. In essence, it’s a gift that keeps on giving, even when you are no longer around.

Why is Sadaqah Jariyah so rewarding?

Ongoing charity is exceptionally rewarding because it multiplies blessings for as long as people benefit from it. If you fund a well that provides clean water or help build a school, every use of that resource earns you a reward from Allah.

Sadaqah Jariyah reflects sincere foresight; you’re not only helping someone once, but improving lives for years or generations. It’s an investment in your hereafter: each time your charity brings comfort or knowledge to others, you gain continuous reward, even after your lifetime.

Examples of Sadaqah Jariyah

There are many ways to give Sadaqah Jariyah. Examples include building a water well, supporting the construction of a mosque or clinic, funding an orphan’s education, or planting fruit trees. Anything that provides ongoing benefit counts.

Donating copies of the Qur’an is another example of Sadaqah Jariyah. By supporting sustainable projects and resources, you ensure your charity continues to improve lives over time. Your one act of generosity becomes a continuous source of hope and relief.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are some examples of Sadaqah Jariyah?
Sadaqah Jariyah is any charitable deed that has long-term benefits. Examples include building or contributing to a well for clean water, constructing a mosque or school, donating books of knowledge, planting fruit trees, or funding an orphanage or clinic. Essentially, any charity that continues to benefit people over time counts as Sadaqah Jariyah.
  • Can I contribute a small amount to Sadaqah Jariyah projects, or do I have to fund the whole thing?
Yes. You can contribute a small amount to a Sadaqah Jariyah project; you don’t have to fund it all yourself. Most such projects are supported collectively by many donors. Even a modest contribution will earn you rewards for every benefit the project brings. In Allah’s eyes, no amount given with sincerity is too small.
  • Can I do Sadaqah Jariyah on behalf of someone who has passed away?
Yes, you can give Sadaqah Jariyah on behalf of a deceased person. Acts like building a well or funding education can bring them ongoing reward. As long as people continue to benefit, the deceased will receive blessings, making it a beautiful gift that extends their legacy.
  • How long do Sadaqah Jariyah projects last?
Sadaqah Jariyah projects are designed to offer long-term benefits. A well may serve communities for decades, and schools or hospitals can help generations. Some projects, like endowments, may last indefinitely. As long as the benefit continues, so does the spiritual reward for the one who gave.
  • Is building a mosque considered Sadaqah Jariyah?
Yes. Building or contributing to a mosque is a powerful form of Sadaqah Jariyah. Each prayer, lesson, or recitation within it brings ongoing reward. Even small donations count. The Prophet ﷺ said those who build a mosque for Allah will be granted a home in Paradise.
  • Do I get rewards for Sadaqah Jariyah while I’m still alive, or only after I die?
You receive rewards for Sadaqah Jariyah during your lifetime and after death. Once your charity begins helping others, the blessings start. These rewards continue for as long as people benefit, making it a lasting source of good deeds in both this life and the hereafter.
